Excel Integration

As before, you can export your reports to Excel.  Now in QB 2013, new feature is added. Look at the situation that you made the formatting changes in the file exported to suit your requirements, and later on, you found that your data[toggle title=”your title here”]your content here[/toggle] in the report exported needs to be changed. In the earlier versions of QuickBooks, you either had to export new report and make formatting again OR manually change the data in the file already formatted by you. However QuickBooks 2013 has now this time saving feature. It will refresh the data in previously saved worksheet and will keep the formats applied by you.  You can export the data with keeping the same format any number of times. Great, isn’t it!

One can export the QuickBooks Reports to Microsoft Excel if one is using QuickBooks Pro or higher and Microsoft Excel Version 2002, 2003, 2007 and 2010 (including 64 bit). Exporting the QuickBooks reports to Excel, there is greater flexibility in report formatting, data manipulation and customization.

QuickBooks allows you to select whether to send the report to new workbook or existing workbook.   When you export a report to an existing workbook, you can specify whether to send the report to a new sheet or an existing sheet. By keeping the references and formulas in the worksheet separate  from the one to which you export report data, one can maintain the references, formulas and other formatting changes already done when overwriting the report data in an existing worksheet.

The option of selecting new workbook or existing worksheet to export data gives you the advantage of adding new reports to the existing excel workbooks and create consolidated reports from several reports or combine information from several reports in one workbook.
Basically the options of exporting the reports from QuickBooks to excel can be divided into three part and these are as under:
Create a new Worksheet

Update an Existing Worksheet

Replace an Existing Worksheet

The Advance Options are available in all three options. The Advanced button is available at bottom right (Above Help button) in Send Report to excel window.

I hope you enjoyed these tips and can be an important tool for your business.
